Congratulations - New Sir Knights!
41 Catholic gentlemen advanced to the 4th Degree (full knighthood in the Knights of Columbus) in service to the Lord Jesus Christ at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on October 3rd. Many of these Brother Knights came from Councils 1214, 11140, and 12145 with the remaining new "Sir Knights" coming from councils across Colorado.

And thank you Brother Knights for welcoming Catholic men as new Knights! Council's 11140 (SJXXIII) and 12145 (SEAS) have successfully completed their first membership recruitments of the fraternal year. And remember, it's not about the numbers -- its about inviting more Catholic men to help us serve the parishes and communities! Council 1214 (ST.JOS) will invite their new members in their membership drive forthcoming.
A Brother Knight and Football Legend
Don Horn, QB (NFL Retired) and Knight
Don Horn quarterbacked the National Champion San Diego State University football champions. He was a first-round NFL draft by the legendary VInce Lombardi and played for the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl II and the incomparable "Ice Bowl" (-15 degrees). Don was also inducted into the GridIron Greats and California Sports Hall of Fame.
But one of his most cherished experiences is his journey with and membership in the KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS. Don is a member of Fort Collins' Council #12145.
Don was once asked, "If you played for Coach Lombardi who was a 4th Degree Knight as well as your father-in-law being a 4th Degree Knight....why is it you didn't join the K of C until you were in your late 60s?"
His reply, "Because nobody asked me."
Don has said that he learned many things from Coach Lombardi but one of the most vital ones was priority. Practice in Green Bay never began until Vince had returned to the field after attending daily mass. This was "Lesson 1" for Don and the team. Lesson 2 was one of Vince's most famous statements: "Get your life in order and established your priorities. God is #1, Family is #2, and Football is #3".
As Don has said, the #3 priority will vary with the events in a person's life but he will never forget what Coach taught and how Priority #1 and Priority #2 establishes a pattern of success in life.
Don will also advise all Catholic men to make joining the Knights of Columbus and serving families, communities, your parish, and those with special needs a priority in life as well.

St. Joseph Council #1214, meets at the K of C Hall, 121 N. Meldrum St., Ft. Collins, on the 4th Wednesday at 7:00 pm. All gentleman holding membership in the Knights of Columbus are welcomed.

St. John XXIII Council #11140, meets at St. John XXIII Roman Catholic Church , 1220 University Avenue in Ft. Collins, on the 3rd Tuesday at 7:00 pm. All gentleman holding membership in the Knights of Columbus are welcomed.
#12145: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Council
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Council #12145, meets in McGivney Hall at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 5450 S. Lemay Avenue in Ft. Collins, on the 1st Tuesday at 7:00 pm. All gentleman holding membership in the Knights of Columbus are welcomed.
